Francesco Columbu -known as Franco- was born in Ollollai on august 7th 1941.  his carreer made him into one of the worlds greatest bodybuilders and  power lifters, his journey began when he moved to germany to become a contruction worker.  He was already a trained boxer and quickly became one of the best bodybuilders of the 60s.

When he met Arnold Schwarzenegger, in Monaco in 1965, his life changed and so did his destiny.  Their friendship brought them to become professional bodybuilders and eventually made them travel to America where they also got involved in movies and of the making of “Pumping iron” a documentary made in 1977.

The documentary was done at a time where Columbu carreer was taking off just the year before Franco won the title of Mr Olympia which he will win again in 1981.

He was also known to be the worlds strongest man competing in powerlifting competitions and winning in 1969.

Franco Columbu is also an expert in the field of nutrition and is a very skilled chyropraticioner therefore making him an essential asset to this event.
